There’s a reason music has been a fundamental part of cultures worldwide for as long as humans have existed… well, as long as we’ve been human.
Music unites us on a deep level; it motivates us, gives us courage, evokes nostalgia, and envelops us in emotion. It can achieve all this and so much more, which is why it remains such an essential part of our lives even today.
Indeed, it’s a testament to the true brilliance of certain songs that they manage to stay relevant and cherished over the years and decades in an industry that’s as fiercely competitive as it gets.
The power of music
In a field that’s constantly trying to catch up with the latest trends, in a world where thousands of new tracks are released daily, there are those songs that simply refuse to fade away.
In my opinion, Amazing Grace is one such song. Through its many versions, it has undoubtedly stood the test of time, and today it’s a favorite for millions in one form or another.
Personally, I find it to be a stunning piece of music that rightfully earns its place among the greatest classics of all time. And that was before I experienced the rendition played by 200 bagpipes!

It starts with a lone singer amidst a crowd of bagpipe players, his voice gradually merging with the music. As the singer reaches his peak, a single bagpipe takes over the melody, slowly delivering a hauntingly beautiful end to the first verse.

As I mentioned earlier, music has a unique ability to connect us and take us on an emotional journey influenced by the artist’s intentions. While this may not be the first time Amazing Grace has given me goosebumps, it definitely made me contemplate all the things I am grateful for.
