San Pedro de Macorís – On the morning of this Friday, a 17-year-old young man was found without vital signs in the yard of his home, located on “T” Street in the Restauración neighborhood of this city. The victim was identified as Antoni David García, who showed respiratory compromise due to constriction of the neck.
According to preliminary information, the incident is believed to have occurred inside the residence, and the circumstances that led to it remain unknown at this time. Neighbors and acquaintances expressed their shock and sadness, stating that they were unaware the teenager was facing any situations that could have anticipated such an outcome.
A unit from the National System for Emergency and Security Assistance 9-1-1 quickly arrived at the scene after receiving the alert. However, upon arrival, they confirmed that the young man no longer showed any signs of life, making resuscitation efforts impossible.
Later, personnel from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), accompanied by members of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim), carried out the removal of the body. It was then transferred for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause of death
The case is currently under investigation by the authorities, while family members and local residents await the official results. The tragic loss of Antoni David García has caused deep sorrow in the community, where the importance of promoting psychological support and guidance for young people facing emotional difficulties has been strongly emphasized.
